    Descriptive Notes

Book is 216 pp. with plates, facsimiles, and maps. The contents include Beowulf, reused from Hubert Pierquin's 1912 translation. WorldCat entries do not indicate that the Old English text printed by Pierquin reappears here. A 2nd edition was published in 1966.

No copy or scan of this book, in either edition, has been accessible for examination.

    Notes on Prior Documentation

Not represented in Fry or MO2 (both mention only the 1912 original publication).

GR's note on this 1958 book treats it as a new edition of the 1912 text with an added commentary by Jolivet, but pagination and other details from WorldCat records suggest that the books differ more greatly than implied by GR. MO1's note (p. 171) represents the 1958 publication as the same book.
