Running time 59:01. The earliest documented Beowulf film, Fairservice's Beowulf was produced between 1972 and 1976, with support from the British Film Institute in the later stages, and is archived at the British Film Institute. The script for the voiceover narration and dialogue is drawn entirely from Crossley-Holland's 1968 translation of the poem. The order of the text is rearranged to fit Fairservice's choice to frame the entire story with the Last Survivor episode of Beowulf, a choice that also creates for him an alternative to direct depiction of the monster fights.
BAM. Some information is given from program notes and later DVD cover that were supplied by David F. Johnson, from images of these documents provided to him by Fairservice.
